New album The Spade by Butch Walker

Album Stream: Butch Walker - The Spade
Butch Walker’s name can be found in the credits of countless CD jackets. While he writes hits for chart topping artists, his own brand of witty pop music has never followed the traditional Billboard formula.
He started out in various glam bands and although his music went through an evident evolution, after listening to his lyrics it’s clear he never really left the ‘80s roots behind. Walker’s past albums have consistently contained social commentary and infectious choruses. The man can concoct a hook.
His latest record, The Spade, is his first record since he signed with Dangerbird Records, and it pulls pieces from his ’80s nostalgia while continuing to jab at the conformists with songs like “Synthesizers” and “The Summer of 89.” The Spade is a blend of the alt-country flair he channeled in his past albums and the snarky pop hooks he seems to feel more at home with.
Listen to The Spade, available in stores on August 30, in the Rdio player below all this week.

New album Black And White America by Lenny Kravitz

I’ve been rocking with Lenny Kravitz since 1990 when I was running with my old head Sean from 69th & Ogontz Avenue in Philly. At the time, I was 16 and all I listened to was hip hop, and I really mean ALL I listened to was hip hop. Sean was a dread dude who was 4 years older than me and listened to any and everything. If you stopped through his crib you would hear everything from the Isley Brother’s “Summer Breeze” to De La Soul’s “Ring Ring Ring.” But the one CD that was played over and over AND over again at his crib was Lenny Kravitz’s “Mama Said.” This album was Lenny’s heartfelt love letter to his wife at the time, Lisa Bonet about their breakup amid rumors of an affair between him and Madonna and this became the first non hip hop album that I fell in love with. In fact, “Mama Said” made me open my ears to different genres of music other then hip hop and for that I’ve always been Indebted to Lenny. Which is why anytime he’s got something new on tap, I’m all ears and with his newest release “Black and White America” about to drop, my ears are wide open as ususal.

30 Seconds To Mars Break Up

30 Seconds To Mars have still refused to confirm or deny rumours that they will break up after they finish touring their third album 'This Is War'.

Speaking to Kerrang!, frontman Jared Leto said that he remains unsure if he can face the process of recording another album and undertaking another world tour as their current trek has been so exhausting.

He said:
"A lot of artists peak or get burned out. A lot of times they stop trying and those are all dangers. It took two years to make 'This Is War'. Touring it has been another two years. Do I have that in me again? I don't know."

The band have hinted that they may not return with a new album, but did also indicate that they are writing new material, with Leto admitting that he is "always writing new music." The singer also said that should they make a new album, the band could go in a new musical direction.

Asked about the possibly of making a new album, Leto replied:
"What excites me is the opportunity to rediscover, refine and reinvent, like we have from record to record. The compulsion to create is always with me. We could make a dance record, a dubstep record, a punk record, or a rock opera. Anything is possible because 'This Is War' was an arrival, creatively and personally."

Foo Fighters are set to release the majestic "Arlandria,

Foo-Fighters-to-release-new-single-Arlandria
Foo Fighters are set to release the majestic "Arlandria," the third single from the monster selling 'Wasting Light' album, which hit the coveted #1 spot in the UK, the USA and 10 other countries upon its release in April.

"Arlandria" is already an established crowd pleaser, showcasing the band's musical flexibility and power throughout the Summer of the Foos that has seen them enhancing their already universal reputation as one of the greatest rock bands the world has to offer.

Having just headlined two MASSIVE sold-out shows for over 130,000 fans at the Milton Keynes Bowl, the Lollalpalooza festival in the States and every major festival across Europe, Foo Fighters' gilt edged, laser-guided riffage ringing out for 3 hours has provided a staggering master class in the finer points of rock etiquette and in how to shake a stadium to its foundations and leave the audience begging for more.

"Arlandria" has already proven a key weapon in a world class arsenal including Wasting Light cuts "Rope" and "Walk," all of which stand up to and fight perfectly alongside the cavalcade of hits from the band's 16-year-and-counting career.

Wasting Light was recorded entirely in Dave Grohl's garage, on analog tape and was produced by Butch Vig.

Lady Gaga is set to star in the upcoming season of The Simpsons.

She will play herself in an episode where she tries to cheer up Lisa Simpson to no avail.

The animated singer apparently stops in the Simpson's home town after learning that it is filled with low self-esteem.

She then tries to bring some joy into Lisa's life through the power of speech, song and a flash mob.

Yeardley Smith who voices the character of Bart's sister says it was a pleasure to work with the Bad Romance singer.

''m stunned that she has time in her schedule that she's coming to our studio to record,' Yeardley gushed.

She added that Gaga's character on the show was the 'happiest, most optimistic person in the world.'

The controversial singer taped her episode yesterday for her trip to Springfield but it is not yet known when the episode, titled Lisa Goes Gaga, will air.

Nero: 'Welcome Reality' - Album review

Nero 'Welcome Reality'
It's the year 2808. Doomsday is upon us, and any remaining survivors are living in a post-apocalyptic world of desolate landscapes that they are eager to rebuild. Or so dubstep duo and apparent disaster movie enthusiasts Nero would have you believe on their debut album Welcome Reality.

Sure, it's a curious and not wholly original concept that wreaks of self-indulgence, but when your business is to rework this year's genre of choice by mainstream pop acts into something fresh and exciting, it's also one that happens to work very well.

It's clear from the wobbling basslines of 'Guilt' and strobing synths in 'Promises' that they've paid close attention to label bosses Chase & Status on treading the tightrope between commercial dubstep and underground drum 'n' bass, but it's when they cut loose with thunderous, hook-laden 'Doomsday' and the sledge-hammering guitar on 'Scorpions' that they really come into their own.

While they quickly lose sight of their ambitious concept, Welcome Reality is nonetheless an exhilarating ensemble of euphoric breakdowns and club-thumping choruses - the best of which feature long-standing guest vocalist Alana Watson at the helm. Someone sign these two up to soundtrack Blade Runner II post-haste.

Foo Fighters Will Release “Arlandria” As A New Single

It’s been quite the summer for the Foo Fighters, the guys have been keeping busy being “on call” at every music festival in Europe, well maybe not every single festival, but at least at the ones which are worth mentioning. Apparently, these guys just love to sing, and since their latest album, “Wasting Light” topped the charts being number 1 in 11 countries, I thinks it’s safe to say that the Foo Fighters are good at what they do!
Now that the summer is almost over, and the festivals are coming to an end, the band took fans by surprise announcing that they will release a new single. The song chosen for this release is the lucky number three track from their massive selling album, “Wasting Light”.
Now,if you don’t already know the tracklist by heart and you’re wondering which was the third track, rest assure cause we’re here to tell you that the Foo Fighters’ new single is titled “Arlandria”. Go ahead, say it with us: Ardlandlandira, Arrrlandria, you gotta get a lot of practice at saying it, cause from what we can tell, the song is going to be an instant hit.
The Foos probably chose “Arlandria” due to the extremely positive results they had when performing it on the numerous concert stages they’ve been on this summer. The track is practically a showcase for their flexibility and it’s proven itself as a favorite along side the band’s previous releases, “Rope” and “Walk”.
When it comes to bringing new material to the music industry, the Foo Fighters like to keep it in the family, sort to speak, and by that I mean that they pretty much handle everything themselves. It might be surprising to find out that “Wasting Light” was entirely recorded on an analog tape, in the most elaborate and complex studio ever, namely… drummer Dave Grohl’s garage (if you’re not as amazed to hear that as I am, then you’re probably used to the conventional sound of a garage-recorded track).
The production part is where Butch Vig came in, he has been handling the production part for the Foos since 2009 when they released “Wheels”, one of the tracks included on their “Greatest Hits” album.
The official release of “Arlandria” is set for September 5th, 2011 so all of you Foo Fighters fans who were waiting for a new single to collect, be sure not to miss this one, cause it’s a winner (and trust us, we have a nose for hits).

My Chemical Romance – The Only Hope For Me Is You

Remember me [6x]

Where will we stand?
When all the lights go out
Across these city streets
Where were you when
All of the embers fell
I still remember there
Covered in ash
Covered in glass
Covered in all my friends
I still
Think of the bombs they built

If there's a place that I could be,
Then I’d be another memory
Can I be the only hope for you?
Because you’re the only hope for me
And if we can find where we belong,
We’ll have to make it on our own.
Face all the pain and take it on
Because the only hope for me is you
Alone

How would you be
Many as after the disaster that we’ve seen
What we have learned
Of all the people burning
In purifying flame

I say it’s okay
I know you can tell
And though you can see me smile
I still
Think of the guns they sell

If there's a place that I could be,
Then I’d be another memory
Can I be the only hope for you?
Because you’re the only hope for me
And if we can find where we belong,
We’ll have to make it on our own.
Face all the pain and take it on
Because the only hope for me is you
Alone

The only hope for me
The only hope for me is you
The only hope
For me is you
The only hope
For me is you
The only hope
For me is you
The only hope

If there's a place that I could be,
Then I’d be another memory
Can I be the only hope for you?
Because you’re the only hope for me
And if we can find where we belong,
We’ll have to make it on our own.
Face all the pain and take it on
Because the only hope for me is you
Alone

The only hope for me is you [9x]
Alone

Remember me [4x]

Blink-182: Up All Night

Artwork for Blink 182's 'Up all Night'
Having spent the lion's share of the noughties soundtracking teen-rock anthems for those American house-party-cum-road-trip-type films, Blink-182 continue to remain synonymous with teen culture and all of its ups, downs and unfortunate apple pie incidents. Inevitably they've now ascended into their maturer years, but for a band whose philosophy appears to be about acting as old as you feel, can they recapture the good times of yesteryear with their comeback effort?

"Everyone works and fights, stays up all night to celebrate the day," Tom DeLonge sing-speaks in his familiar emo twang over spiralling electric guitars, grungy bass and Travis Barker's angst-driven drum beats. The result is a hearty slice of stadium-sized pop-rock not too dissimilar to DeLonge's band on the side Angels and Airwaves. "Everyone lives to tell the tale of how we die alone some day," Mark Hoppus muses, reminding us all that life is too short to worry about getting old.
